Position Overview:

Beam is looking for a highly motivated, passionate, and collaborative marketer to join our growing Product & Portfolio Strategy team. The Product Director, BEAM-101 will shape the development and execution of the U.S. launch plan for Beam’s lead asset, BEAM-101, an ex vivo autologous hematopoietic stem cell-based gene therapy for the treatment of severe sickle cell disease (SCD). In this role, you will be a critical member of a highly cross-functional team preparing for Beam’s potential first product commercialization.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for generating insights into the sickle cell and genetic medicines treatment landscape, stakeholder needs and treatment decision making
  • Leads development of the BEAM-101 brand plan, including competitive differentiation, customer segmentation and targeting, positioning, and messaging
  • Contributes to the development and execution of the integrated launch plan for BEAM-101
  • Collaborates with other functions (e.g. medical affairs, market access, patient supply, patient advocacy) in shaping HCP engagement strategy, customer experience, disease state education etc.
  • Leads development of short- and long-term professional marketing strategies and tactics
  • Budget management
  • Forecast and long-range financial planning
  • Competitive monitoring

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in a relevant academic field; MBA, MD, PhD, or other graduate degree strongly preferred
  • Minimum 10 years business experience within the pharma/biotech/biopharma space
  • Demonstrated marketing experience and proven performance required; in-line marketing experience preferred
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to think strategically and solve problems creatively
  • Skilled at navigating ambiguity and developing solutions in the absence of complete information
  • Excellent verbal, written and executive communication skills; ability to make the complex clear
  • Experience with product launch highly preferred
  • Experience with cell and gene therapies highly preferred
  • Experience with U.S. marketing highly preferred
  • Role is based in Cambridge, MA, or hybrid
  • Requires up to 25% travel, predominantly US with limited international travel.
