Role: Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Remote US-Based

Essential Functions:

  • Invoice Processing:
    • Manage the AP inbox.
    • Review and verify invoices for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies.
    • Code invoices to appropriate general ledger accounts and cost centers.
    • Enter invoices into the accounting system and ensure timely payment.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Maintain accurate vendor records, including contact information, payment terms, and tax information.
    • Communicate with vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues.
    • Set up new vendors in the accounting system and manage vendor documentation.
  • Payment Processing:
    • Prepare and process electronic payments, checks, and wire transfers.
    • Clinical site payment management, if/when it comes online.
    • Ensure payments are made in accordance with payment terms and company policies.
    • Reconcile vendor statements and address any outstanding issues.
  • Expense Reporting:
    • Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and IRS regulations.
    • Verify supporting documentation and approve expense reports for payment.
    • Monitor and enforce expense reporting deadlines.
  • Month-End Close:
    • Assist with the month-end close process by preparing accounts payable accruals and reconciling accounts payable subledger to the general ledger.
    • Ensure all invoices are processed and posted in the correct accounting period.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
    • Ensure compliance with SEC rules and regulations specific to public companies, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) requirements.
    • Assist with internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
    • Maintain accurate and organized records of all Accounts Payable transactions.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the accounts payable function.
    • Assist in the development and documentation of accounts payable procedures and policies.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the Finance and Accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and support overall financial objectives.
    • Collaborate with other departments to address and resolve accounts payable issues.
    • Assist with ad hoc projects.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Three (3) years of experience in accounts payable, preferably within a public company subject to SEC regulations
  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, accounts payable processes, and financial reporting requirements
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Ability to work across various US time zones
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

The U.S. target annual salary range for this remote, full-time, position is currently set at $82,000 -$93,000. The actual base salary offered for this role will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, market factors, experience and considering internal equity. In addition, to the base salary, CG Oncology offers a very attractive set of Total Rewards (including bonus and equity) and Well-Being Benefits provided as part of the overall compensation package for this role.
