About the role
This role seeks a highly motivated and experienced Senior FP&A Analyst to join the finance team at CG Oncology. The analyst will be a key contributor to financial planning and analysis processes. They will provide critical insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making and drive financial performance within CG Oncology.

Essential Functions
- Assist with the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial plans. This includes collaborating with various departments to gather data and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance complex financial models for various business units, projects, and products. This supports forecasting, scenario planning, and financial decision-making.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis against budget and forecast. Identify key performance drivers, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare and present clear, concise financial reports and dashboards for senior management and executive teams. Provide insightful commentary and actionable recommendations.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, such as R&D, Manufacturing, and SG&A. The goal is to understand business drivers and provide financial insights to support operational and strategic initiatives.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reporting and analysis.
- Drive continuous process improvements within the FP&A function. Streamline reporting, enhance data reliability, and leverage financial systems and tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analyses and provide recommendations to support various strategic initiatives and special projects as requested by senior leadership.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field is required (Master's degree or CPA/CFA preferred).
- 3+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis or FP&A is required. A strong understanding of financial cycles and reporting is needed.
- Experience in the life sciences or biotech industry is strongly preferred. Familiarity with concepts like R&D stages, clinical trial, manufacturing and regulatory processes is also preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling is required. A demonstrated ability to build, maintain, and update complex financial models is also necessary.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills are essential. The ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights is also necessary.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills are required. The ability to effectively communicate financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders is also necessary.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools is required (e.g., ERP systems like Net Suite, planning tools like Condor, TM1 or Hyperion).
- The ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy is needed.
- Knowledge of GAAP and internal control principles is required.
