Position Overview

Lead the comprehensive commercial strategy for Bio-Techne’s Life Science portfolio across Greater China, focusing on Protein Science, Cell & Gene Therapy (CGT), Spatial Multi-Omics, and Diagnostic Development. Integrate high-value reagents (e.g., ELISA/antibodies/recombinant proteins), precision instruments (e.g., automation platforms, spatial biology systems), and diagnostic raw materials to deliver end-to-end customer solutions. Direct hybrid (direct + distribution) teams to deeply engage strategic accounts’ R&D pipelines, ensuring sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Growth & Portfolio Leadership

  • Solution Selling: Champion integrated platform solutions (e.g., antibody development + automated detection systems, spatial transcriptomics reagents + imaging platforms) targeting top-tier research institutes, CGT companies, and IVD developers.

  • Emerging Market Capture: Develop Go-to-Market (GTM) strategies for Spatial Biology and Organoid/Cell Therapy segments, establishing KOL-driven lighthouse accounts.

  • Diagnostics Expansion: Collaborate with Diagnostics Division to penetrate IVD raw materials (antibodies/antigens/controls) in local pharma/medtech firms, supporting regulatory needs.

2. Key Account & Channel Excellence

  • Strategic Account Ownership:

    • Personally manage Top 30 accounts (e.g., WuXi group, CAS elite labs), addressing customer pain points (e.g., target validation, process QC) with tailored reagent-instrument bundles.

    • Deliver co-development support (e.g., custom protein development, application training) for strategic partners.

  • Distribution Network Optimization:

    • Build effective distribution system to allow easy-to-buy for end user

    • Manage regional distributors for high-value reagents, prioritizing technically capable partners and enforcing pricing compliance.

    • Drive direct sales for premium instruments (e.g., Lunaphore, ProteinSimple) via demo unit placements and KOL engagement.

3. Team & Operational Leadership

  • Build Technical Sales Force:

    • Recruit domain experts (proteomics, molecular diagnostics, cell therapy) to enhance pre-sales consulting capabilities.

    • Establish pre-sales/post-sales collaboration to ensure customer success for complex systems (e.g., Simple Western, MultiOmyx).

  • Data-Driven Operations:

    • Track customer R&D stage demands (preclinical/IND/commercial) via CRM to forecast purchasing cycles.

    • Monitor reagent-instrument cross-sell ratio to maximize wallet share.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • R&D Alignment: Capture China-specific needs (e.g., target-specific antibodies, NMPA-compliant raw materials) for APAC R&D prioritization.

  • Marketing Synergy:

    • Lead advanced technical workshops (e.g., protein quantification, spatial single-cell analysis) to strengthen technical branding.

    • Develop vertical-focused case studies (e.g., CAR-T QC solutions, CDx antibody development).

Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements

  • Education: Master’s degree or higher in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, or related field; MBA preferred.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 15+ years in life science sales leadership, with both:

      • High-value reagents: Antibodies/proteins/cell factors/diagnostic raw materials (annual portfolio ≥ RMB 200M).

      • Premium instruments: Automation systems (e.g., Western Blot alternatives), omics platforms (spatial multi-omics, single-cell), or bioreactors.

    • Proven IVD raw materials market experience: Understanding of IVD customer procurement cycles, regulatory QC, and compliance (GMP/ISO 13485).

    • Distribution network management: Successfully overseen ≥30 regional distributors with conflict-resolution expertise.

  • Track record and Achievements:

    • Achieved ≥20% YoY growth for premium instrument product lines.

    • Closed ≥3 enterprise-level solution deals (≥RMB 5M/order) with multinational pharma/CXO firms.

Core Competencies

  • Technical Acumen: Ability to interpret experimental data (e.g., WB/IHC results) and propose optimization strategies; deep knowledge of biologics development workflows.

  • Regulatory Awareness: Expertise in IVD raw material regulations (NMPA, GMP) and import policies for research equipment.

  • Leadership: Ability to navigate matrixed global-local dynamics and build high-performance cross-cultural teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience commercializing Spatial Biology technologies (Visium, Xenium, MERFISH).

  • Familiarity with cell therapy QC workflows (viability, vector titer, residual testing).

  • Native Mandarin fluency + professional English proficiency (for global strategy alignment).

  • Willingness to travel ≥50% (including international).
