Summary:
The Sales and Marketing Manager for Japan leads Bio-Techne’s commercial strategy for reagent solutions, assay reagents, and analytical instruments. Based in Tokyo, this role drives localized marketing initiatives aligned with global strategy, focusing on brand awareness, lead generation, and revenue growth. The manager oversees a high-performing team and works closely with distributors and partners to expand market presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze Japan-specific market situations and customer requirements, and implement appropriate marketing strategy and tactics.
  • Align product messaging and go-to-market plans with global teams.
  • Lead generation and sales growth through digital marketing, events, and KOL engagement.
  • Strengthen relationships with key reagent/consumable distributors, driving business growth and jointly executing expansion strategies.
  • Lead the Sales, Application, and Marketing teams (Reagent/Assay/Instrument), focusing on market strategy to drive growth and profitability.
  • Monitor performance metrics, manage budgets, and ensure CRM compliance.
  • Foster a culture of empowerment, innovation, and collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or higher in Life Sciences or related field; MBA or Ph.D. preferred.
  • 10+ years in life science sales/marketing; 3+ years in marketing leadership.
  • Strong technical knowledge in relevant scientific areas.
  • Fluent in Japanese and English
  • Skill in digital tools including Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint and project management.

Preferred:

  • Sales/Channel partner experience, knowledge of Japanese research tool regulations, and cross-functional operational skills (Logistics, Legal, HR) suited for a lean organization.
