The Director, Marketing, APAC is a critical leadership role focused on driving strategic initiatives that enhance long-term value across diverse product categories in Bio-techne Asia. This position is responsible for the comprehensive management of product portfolios, leveraging data to inform decisions that align with business objectives and address customer needs. The ideal candidate will exhibit a strong strategic mindset, process-oriented thinking, and a collaborative approach, effectively bridging multiple teams to achieve organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Product Life Cycle Management
Develop and implement a lifecycle management strategy that uses product maturity models and end-of-life plans to ensure maximum portfolio value.
Conduct thorough analyses to provide insights on product evolution and differentiation, guiding decisions on discontinuations versus the development of next-generation products based on market trends and applications.
Utilize data analytics to identify key value inflection points driven by market dynamics, customer needs, and technological advancements.
Portfolio Governance and Optimization
Create and execute scalable portfolio models with clearly defined product hierarchies, standardized data formats, and value-driven portfolio segmentation tailored to high-growth markets.
Collaborate with product management, commercial, and finance teams to formulate dynamic pricing strategies aimed at sustaining continuous value optimization beyond annual reviews.
Oversee strategic pricing controls, including discount governance and profitability frameworks to ensure pricing consistency, transparency, and margin integrity across SKUs.
Integrated Business Planning and Operational Alignment

Represent the portfolio within SIOP, ensuring accurate demand planning inputs, including:
Customer contractual obligations (e.g., MSAs)
End-of-life planning and transition timelines
Multi-lot strategies for demand/supply/quality alignment
Drive alignment between product plans and operations to support customer commitments and financial targets
NPI Phase-Gate Process
Co-lead the NPI phase-gate process in close partnership with R&D, Program Management, Marketing, Operations, and Quality teams to ensure a unified, cross-functional approach to new product development and launch.
Identify and improve time-to-market through streamlined launch processes.
Continuously improve phase-gate effectiveness by incorporating best practices.
Serve as a key integrator between end market strategy PM teams and NPI execution.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Science, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
10+ years of experience in portfolio or product management, preferably in a technology, industrial, or life sciences setting.
Proven experience with NPI phase-gate processes, lifecycle management, and cross-functional program leadership.
Strong analytical skills; comfortable working with large data sets and portfolio dashboards.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and decision-making skills.
Experience with ERP, PLM, or portfolio management tools a plus.
This position is eligible to receive a target annual cash bonus and long-term incentive package of stock grants based on individual and company performance, in accordance with company policy.
