Pay Range:

$133,300.00 - $219,100.00

The Director of Sales, North America – Reagent Sales Specialists leads a hybrid Field and Inside Sales organization responsible for driving growth across Proteins, Antibodies, ELISAs, and Small Molecules within the R&D Systems, Tocris, and Novus portfolios.

This role manages 6 Regional Sales Managers, each overseeing teams of Field-based and Inside Reagent Sales Specialists, and is accountable for performance, execution consistency, and customer experience across North America. The Director partners closely with Field Sales leadership, Marketing, Product Management, Operations, and Finance to translate strategy into disciplined commercial execution.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Leadership

  • Own North American specialist sales performance across Field and Inside teams for Proteins, Antibodies, ELISAs, and Small Molecules

  • Translate regional and divisional growth objectives into clear execution plans across both selling motions

  • Drive strong pipeline management, forecast accuracy, and disciplined operating cadence

  • Optimize coverage models across Field and Inside teams to maximize reach, productivity, and customer impact

People Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop 6 Regional Sales Managers responsible for Field and Inside specialist teams

  • Build a performance-driven culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and customer impact

  • Develop leadership bench strength through coaching, talent reviews, and succession planning

  • Ensure consistent expectations, KPIs, and operating rhythms across regions and selling motions

Go-to-Market Execution

  • Partner with Marketing and Product Management on portfolio focus, campaigns, and new product launches

  • Provide clear voice-of-customer feedback to inform portfolio strategy, pricing, and investment priorities

Operational Excellence

  • Establish consistent sales processes, CRM usage, and performance metrics across Field and Inside teams

  • Drive data-based decision making through funnel analytics, territory productivity, and customer segmentation

  • Balance brand consistency across R&D Systems, Tocris, and Novus while respecting portfolio and customer nuance

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Serve as a key commercial leader within the North American Sales leadership team

  • Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to align demand signals with supply and customer commitments

  • Collaborate with Finance on forecasting, headcount productivity, and commercial investment trade-offs

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred

  • 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in Life Science Tools or related industries

  • Proven success leading Field and Inside Sales organizations, including manager-of-managers experience

  • Experience selling reagent portfolios (proteins, antibodies, ELISAs, small molecules) into academic, biotech, and pharma customers

  • Strong commercial judgment with a track record of driving growth through execution and team development
